What Peekabl is and how a live tour works

What is Peekabl?

Peekabl is a live travel platform where a real local host walks you through their city, market or mountain, in real time, and you talk to them as they go.

Tours run on a schedule, like a live event. You join at the start time, see the host's camera, and steer the experience with questions and requests in live chat. Think of it as a streaming service for live exploring.

How does a live tour work?

Pick a tour on the schedule and reserve your spot. When it starts, open it from your dashboard and you see the host's live video next to the chat.

Ask questions, request a detour, or ask the host to zoom in on something that caught your eye. Join a few minutes early to read the tour description and settle in.

Can I talk to the host?

Yes. Live chat is your direct line to the host.

Ask them to turn down a side street, explain a local custom, translate a sign or show you a dish at a market stall. The host decides what is possible on the day, because safety and the flow of the tour come first.

What do I need to watch?

A device with a modern web browser and a stable internet connection. That is all.

No app, no download and no VR headset. A bigger screen, such as a laptop, a tablet or a TV connected to a device, gives you the best view.

Price and your plan

Free trial, Stamps, Explorer and Voyager tours, cancelling, refunds

How much does Peekabl cost?

Peekabl costs $9.99 a month after a 30-day free trial.

Your plan includes 2 Stamps a month, and each Stamp joins you to one live Explorer Tour. If you want more, you can join other tours at the price shown on each tour before you pay. Prices are in US dollars.

Do I need a card for the free trial?

Yes. You add a card when you sign up, and you are not charged during the 30 days.

Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing. Your trial already includes 2 Stamps, so you can join live tours from day one.

What are Stamps?

A Stamp is your pass to one live Explorer Tour.

Your plan includes 2 Stamps each month, and one is used automatically when you join an Explorer Tour. Unused Stamps do not roll over: they expire at the end of the billing period. Stamps cannot be used for Voyager Tours.

What is the difference between Explorer Tours and Voyager Tours?

Explorer Tours are the heart of Peekabl, and you join them with your Stamps. Voyager Tours are premium experiences that you buy separately.

Explorer Tours are live walking tours in welcoming, culturally rich places. Voyager Tours can include things like museum visits, rare or restricted places, longer tours and higher production quality. The price of each tour is shown before you pay.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your plan at any time in your account settings.

You keep access until the end of the billing period you already paid for, and nothing more is charged. Unused Stamps expire at the end of that period and are not refunded. You are welcome to come back whenever you like.

What if a tour is cancelled or something goes wrong?

You get a full refund, the same way you paid.

This applies when a host cancels with less than 24 hours' notice, or when a verified technical failure on our side stops a paid tour from taking place. If you used a Stamp, the Stamp goes back to your account. If you paid with money, it goes back to your original payment method, and your bank decides how long it takes to show, up to 14 business days. For a technical failure, write to [email protected] within 7 days of the tour. Because tours are live, a tour you simply miss still counts as joined.

Is Peekabl right for you?

Families, where in the world, paying safely

Is Peekabl a travel agency?

No. Peekabl does not sell flights, hotels or trips.

It is a live streaming platform: you join live tours from your sofa or anywhere with a connection. It works like a streaming service, but live, and it is a way to explore places, not a way to book travel.

How is Peekabl different from YouTube or a travel documentary?

On Peekabl you take part. A video is recorded and edited by someone else, and you can only watch.

On Peekabl you walk next to a real local host in real time and ask for what you want to see: the rain, the crowd, the street food vendor calling out, exactly as it is at that moment.

Is Peekabl good for families and schools?

Yes for families, with an adult in charge. Accounts are for people 18 and over, so a parent or guardian holds the account and watches with the child.

The adult can ask the host questions in chat on the child's behalf. That makes it a good fit for geography, history and culture at home, and for families who want screen time with a purpose. Peekabl is not set up for schools yet. If your school is interested, write to [email protected].

Where in the world can I explore?

Our hosts are in places across several continents, and new live tours are added every week.

Open the schedule to see which destinations are coming up and which hosts go live next.

Is it safe to pay?

Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe, and Peekabl never sees or stores your full card details.

You see the price before you pay, and you can cancel your plan at any time.
